Highland Homes, a successful Florida homebuilder, is now hiring a Financial Analyst. This role involves meticulous financial analysis, detailed reporting, and dynamic strategic planning. The position is based at our corporate office in Lakeland, Florida, with regular hours scheduled Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Candidates must live in Central Florida or be willing to relocate to Central Florida for consideration.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and assist with analyses and reporting on a weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc basis
  • Perform analytical review of financial results against the plan/forecast and before reporting the results to management
  • Ability to provide thoughtful explanations for variances against expectations
  • Produce monthly packages including trends, variance analysis, and future expectations
  • Assist with the preparation of the annual operating budget and monthly forecasts
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance to support operational decision-making, and provide insight into trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
  • Communicate with co-workers and management in a courteous, timely and professional manner
  • Problem solving and critical thinking
  • Other duties, as necessary

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • Minimum of 3 years working experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required
  • Experience in Microsoft Access is preferred
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and financial skills
  • Detail-oriented and accurate with numbers and data
  • Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Self-motivated, having the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong, efficient communication
  • Work ethic
  • Job costing experience a plus
