Build ItBuilding a home is a very exciting time. The building process takes a great deal of commitment, effort and resources. At Highland Homes we want the experience of building your home to be enjoyable. That's why we developed six stages of customer contact to help keep you informed through-out the home building process. Your personal builder will provide key updates from the day your home is released to construction all the way through the process until you receive the keys to your new home. Here is a glimpse of some of the key stages in the homebuilding process to give you some idea on what to expect. Builder OrientationYour personal builder will contact you once your home is released to start construction to set up a builder orientation meeting. During the orientation you will meet your personal builder and review your home site, plans and specifications. Building the FoundationJust prior to pouring the foundation on your home, your personal builder will contact you and provide an update on the status of your home answering any questions that may have developed thus far. Mid Construction or Pre-Drywall MeetingYour personal builder will contact you prior to the release of drywall to set up a pre-walk through meeting. During this meeting you can review the framing, roof and shingles and touch base on the options you selected at the personal selection studio. The expected date for drywall will be discussed as well. Carpet StageWhen the carpet and flooring is scheduled to be installed, your personal home builder will contact you and provide an update on the status of your home. Your builder will be happy to answer any questions you may have. First Walk-ThroughQuality Control Checks are performed throughout the building process to ensure model specifications are followed, quality materials and products are being used and installed, contract options are installed and the overall quality is in line with the Highland Homes Standard. The first walk-through allows you to walk the completed home with your personal builder wrapping up the final touches. Your personal builder will notify you about a week out from your scheduled walk-through date. New Home Demonstration(Second Walk-Through)The New Home Demonstration or second walk-through will give you the opportunity to become personally acquainted with your new home. During the New Home Demonstration your personal builder will focus on the features of your new homes explaining appliances, maintenance and warranty information. ClosingShortly after the new home demonstration, your sales counselor will contact you with your designated closing date. During the closing process you will transfer the ownership of the home into your name. WarrantyAfter closing, your home is covered under the Highland Homes Builder Warranty. This warranty is in effect for one year and begins when you take possession of your new home. The builder warranty covers but is not limited to electrical, plumbing and mechanical service in the first year. After one year of ownership your home is covered by a 10 year structural warranty through Bonded Builders. This warranty protects your from any structural defects for a period of ten years. |
