Shopping and Conveniences
US-41 / South Tamiami Trail is one mile west of Venetian at Bay Park. This well traveled roadway takes you north into the city of Tampa, or south to I-275 and the Sunshine Skyway to St. Pete. Along US-41, you’ll find daily conveniences such as grocery shopping at Winn Dixie and Publix, clothing and furniture stores, and a plethora of local cuisine and national chain restaurants.
To the east, the I-75 on ramp is just three miles away for an easy ride north into Tampa or south to Bradenton and Sarasota.
Sperling’s Best Places lists Ruskin as having an unemployment rate of just 5.6%, well under the national average of 6.3%. And, economic development such as the recently opened Amazon Fulfillment Center in Ruskin has helped job growth in the area. With plans to double the Amazon operational capacity in the near future, expect even more job growth in Ruskin.
Entertainment and Activities
Soak up the sunshine at a local beach or park – the popular E. G. Simmons Park is just three and a half miles from your new home. There you will find a variety of activities including sandy beaches, boat ramps, playgrounds, barbeque grills and picnic pavilions, camping, hiking trails, over seven miles of pristine shoreline and a mangrove swamp perfect for exploring by kayak or canoe. The park offers fantastic views of the Tampa and St. Pete skylines and unforgettable sunsets.
Additional nearby beaches along the Tampa Bay coastline include Bahia Beach and Apollo Beach. Or, travel a bit further south to reach world-renowned Anna Maria Island and Longboat Key on the waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

After the sun sets, catch a flick at the 1950’s vintage Ruskin Family Drive-In Theater. Visitors young and old can enjoy the 2,000 square foot screen, clean facilities and snacks.
When you’re ready for some big-city entertainment, Tampa is just 30 minutes away. Take in a Broadway show or catch a band at the Straz Center, enjoy the urban waterfront and Florida Aquarium at Channelside, watch the Tampa Bay Lightning or Tampa Bay Storm at the Amalie Arena, or visit historic Ybor City where Tampa’s Latin Quarter is infused with art, culture, food and craft beer.
Elementary students (K-5) living at Venetian at Bay Park attend Cypress Creek Elementary School, middle school students (6-8) attend Beth Shields Middle School and high school students (9-12) go to Lennard High School. For adults furthering their education, Hillsborough Community College is just two miles away from your new home.
