Lakeland Home Market Rated “Best Bang for Your Buck”
Posted by on December 14, 2011 | Comments
Lakeland home shoppers take heed – According to CNBC and Zillow, the Lakeland home market is No.2 in the nation, as ranked on the “Best Bang for Your Buck Real Estate Markets” list.
Many factors go into the purchase of a home, but one factor that remains a top consideration for most buyers is the price. CNBC compiled its list by looking at average price per square foot data from real estate website Zillow.com.
For Lakeland home buyers this is another piece of news that proves this is a great time, and one of the best locations, to purchase a new home. When you are shopping for your home though, remember that price per square foot shouldn’t be your primary consideration. What’s inside that square footage goes a lot farther towards proving a home’s value and fulfilling your needs. You want to make sure your abode is not just an empty box, but a home built with quality materials that include the features and products that are important to you, fulfills your needs and will provide you with years of enjoyment. Water Saving Tips for Your Lakeland Homes
Posted by on October 26, 2011 | Comments
How many of you try to conserve water at your Lakeland homes? As all our earth-conscious readers know, our planet is threatened by a lack of fresh water. Conserving water in our daily lives will help not just the environment, but also our wallets. It’s the little things we do which turn into great things.
Here in Florida, we get precipitation throughout the year. The recovery of rainwater is the beginning of a solution to water conservation. It is not potable so you don’t want to drink it, but it can easily be captured in a rain barrel and used for the garden or to wash your car or the sidewalk.
Here are instructions to make your own rain barrel, cheap and easy!
You need a plastic barrel (large or small, it depends on how much water you want to catch). A plastic garbage can will work, but a food-grade plastic barrel is better. You will also need a faucet and fittings, which are available at your local hardware store, and basic tools. There are lots of instructions and videos online; we like these because they are fairly detailed.
Preferably, you want it place your barrel in the shade, and remember to empty and clean it once a year. Read More→
