How do I choose the right home plan?
Finding a home design that you love is, for most, one of the biggest factors in deciding to build your new home rather than purchase a resale home. We offer a wide variety of home sizes and layouts to fit the needs of Florida homebuyers like you, with popular features such as open living areas, gourmet kitchens, and luxurious owner's suites, built-in storage solutions including kitchen pantries, linen closets, and drop zones, along with front porches and covered lanais providing desirable outdoor living space.
Each Florida new home community is unique as to the home plans offered due to factors such as home site dimensions, zoning regulations, HOA covenants, and the overall design of the community. On our website, you can browse home plans available in your desired community, and a visit to a Highland Homes model center can help you finalize your decision as to which home plan is perfect for you. Our New Home Specialists will take into consideration the way you live, your style, needs and budget, and make recommendations as to which plan best fits your needs.
Can we customize your home plans?
It depends on what you mean by "customize". We are able to modify or specify how the home should be built for:
- Pre-designed plan options such as a bedroom in place of a den or loft, optional bathroom and kitchen orientations, adding an optional bath, in-law suites, and more
- ADA-related needs, such as widening doorways, creating a roll-in shower, or removing steps for accessibility purposes
- Adding a pool during construction
- Garage location (left or right of home)
- Garage depth extension
- Removing trees
- Placement of septic tanks
- Additional concrete (driveway, additional pad, etc.)
- Adding a patio
- Adding a lanai, if not included in the home plan
- Adding or removing windows and doors (in compliance with building code regulations)
- Specifying plumbing, electrical, and pre-wire locations
Please note, there may be a price associated with any allowable modifications or specifications.
And, a wide array of home design options are available to customize the features and finishes in every room of your new home!
What options are available to personalize my new home?
