With the weather turning cooler and the sun setting earlier, fall is officially here which means it is pumpkin carving season! From the traditional smile of a Jack-o-lantern to witches and black cats, pumpkin carving is a great way to create some fall dÃ©cor while spending time with family and friends. Here is our guide to some of the best pumpkin patches located near your Central Florida new home:
Residents of our new homes in Polk County can check out the pumpkins available at CornFusion Crop Maze & Fall Festival and Harvest Holler.
On Moore Road in Lakeland, you will find CornFusion Crop Maze & Fall Festival. Celebrating “Florida Agriculture: 500 Years in the Making쳌 CornFusion features something for the entire family. Highlights include an eight acre crop maze, pumpkin patch, hayrides, horseshoes, a pumpkin carving station and a variety of local vendors. Admission for CornFusion is $11 for adults, $9 for children ages five to 10 and free for children ages four and under. In addition, CornFusion will have a pumpkin patch set-up at Fall on the Promenade at Lake Mirror. Harvest Holler, located in Polk City, has gotten bigger and better every year. In addition to a large pumpkin patch, Harvest Holler has introduced a corn maze for visitors to enjoy. Other activities include hayrides, a hay fort, corn cribs, tire swings, cow train, corn hole and old farm equipment that are perfect for photos. If you are searching for a pumpkin near Orlando new homes at Deer Creek in St. Cloud, check out Green Meadows Farm, Ltd. or Pumpkin Patch in Celebration.
Green Meadows Farm is located in nearby Kissimmee and offers pumpkin picking throughout the month of October. In addition to the pumpkins, children will enjoy the petting zoo and the Ooky-Spooky Haunted House, a kid-friendly haunted house that feature 13 rooms of not so scary fun and laughs for the entire family. During the month of October, the Community Presbyterian Church in Celebration operates a pumpkin patch with 100 percent of its proceeds going directly to Help Now of Osceola. In addition to the pumpkins, there are plenty of photo opportunities for parents looking to capture the pumpkin picking experience. The Pumpkin Patch in Celebration is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to dusk, Friday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from noon to dusk.
Just minutes from Manatee County homes at Covered Bridge Estates and Palmetto Estates, residents will find fall fun at Hunsader U-Pick Farms. Located in Bradenton, Hunsader U-Pick Farms offers pumpkins, a corn maze, music, hayrides, pony rides, crafts, rock climbing wall, face painting, children’s train ride and more. Known as the Pumpkin Festival, this family-friendly event is held on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $8 for individuals over 13 and free for children 12 and under. Many of the attractions are included with admission, but some activities do cost extra.
Located in Plant City, near Florida new homes at Springfield and Tower Grove Estates, residents will find the perfect pumpkin and other fall fun at the Fox Squirrel Corn Maze. In addition to tackling a maze of corn, visitors to the Fox Squirrel Corn Maze will enjoy the pumpkin patch, fun duck races, a cool corn box for the little ones, horseshoes, cornhole, dummy steer ropin’, face painting, petting zoo, pony/horse rides, arts & crafts vendors and more. Just a short drive from all of our Hillsborough County communities, residents will find pumpkins, corn stalks, straw bales and more at the Tampa Bay Farmers Market. With fresh produce and more also available, the Tampa Bay Farmers Market is a great place to pick up your pumpkin for carving and your groceries, all in one stop. The Tampa Bay Farmers Market is located at 623 South Macdill Avenue.
This Saturday, near homes at Ten Oaks and Greens at Hidden Creek, residents can celebrate the season at the Wesley Chapel Fall Festival 2013 & Pumpkin Patch Pageant. Held at The Grove at Wesley Chapel, this features a pumpkin patch and hayride sponsored by the Rotary Club of Wesley Chapel. For children, there will be bounce houses, inflatable games, face painting and crafts. Parents may also enter their children (ages three months to eight) into the Pumpkin Patch Pageant for $20. Additionally, there is something for your fur children with a pet parade and pet costume contest. The Wesley Chapel Fall Festival 2013 will be held this Saturday, Oct. 12 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 13 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, click here.
Residents of Lake County homes at Whitemarsh are conveniently located to an abundance of fun fall activities at Long & Scott Farms or Stanley Pond Adventure Farm.
During the month of October, Long & Scott Farms will have small, medium, large and jumbo pumpkins for sale in The Market. Additionally, visitors will have the opportunity to get lost in a corn maze. The design of this year’s corn maze celebrates Long & Scott Farms’ 50 year anniversary and its partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank. Also located in Lake County, Stanley Pond Adventure Farm invites families to join Spookely the Square Pumpkin in its pumpkin patch. In addition to your search for the perfect pumpkin, your family will enjoy wagon rides, a giant jumping pillow, cow train rides, skippy the airboat, horse ride, fishing at Catfish Junction, Sparky the fire truck, rubber duck races and more. Spookely will also be available for photos. Fall fun at Stanley Pond Adventure Farm is available the next three weekends in October. Just minutes away from our coming soon community in Ocala, residents will find hours of fall fun at Coon Hollo Corn Maze. Just through the doors of Nana’s Country Store, visitors will find a large pumpkin patch on display with small and large pumpkins available for purchase. In addition to the pumpkins, visitors will enjoy a five-acre corn maze, pasture putt putt golf, hayrides, farm train rides, a hay fort, cornhole games, a 50-foot burlap sack slide and more. New to this year’s fun are old fashion farm-ival games, a cross country photo scavenger hunt and interactive testing maze game. Coon Hollo Corn Maze is open to the public throughout the month of October and the first weekend in November.
