At Highland Homes, we love a good thrill, so we’re excited to take part in three of Central Florida’s community Halloween events.\n\nThe first is Friday, October 22, when we’ll host a booth at the Bartow Family Fall Festival beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Civic Center. Trick-or-treating, making candy apples, painting pumpkins and hearing scary stories are just some of the activities planned. For the bravest among us, a Fear Factor Experience dares you to touch and eat gross body parts, like brains and eyeballs. (The Highland Homes booth will be much safer than that...trust us!)\n\nThen, on Saturday, October 23, we are one of the sponsors of Polk County Parks & Recreation’s Haunted Halloween Hayride & Happenings. Festivities last from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., with a costume contest at 6:15 p.m. (we’re helping to judge!) and a pie eating contest at 8:15 p.m. Highland Homes will have a booth in Trick or Treat Village, and we are also be helping out in the Arts & Crafts pavilion. Stop by our booth for lots of goodies for the kids and a special offer for parents. The entrance fee is $5, and free for children 2 and under with paying adult.\n\nAfter we recover from the exciting weekend, we’ll begin celebrating again at the Halloween Harvest Festival in Downtown Auburndale on Thursday, October 28. We’re taking part in the trick-or-treating, costume contests and general family fun (not to mention all the good food to enjoy that night!). Stop by to see us between 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.\n\nWhere’s the thrill in all of this? Beyond the ghost stories and haunted hayrides, the thrill for us is giving back to the communities where so many of our homebuyers live. If you live in a Highland Homes community in Bartow, Auburndale or anywhere in Polk County, we hope you’ll stop by so we can wish you happy hauntings! IF you are searching for a Polk county new home, please stop by too. We have lots of treats for prospective buyers!
