“Colors this season transport us to a happier, sunnier place where we feel free to express a wittier version of our real selves.쳌 - Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director, Pantone Color Institute„¢
Each year, the color experts at Pantone® transport us to a world of color possibilities and new design trends. The 2016 colors of the year, Rose Quartz and Serenity, have been a major influence in not only the fashion world, but in the land of interior design and decoration as well.
Spring 2016 brings 8 more colors to the table that bring design inspiration to the masses. The Pantone® Spring 2016 color trends exhibit cool and warm tones, just like the perfect spring day. The color collection brings us a warm coral peach, rich and energetic red, sunny bright yellow, and brilliant green while also serving relaxing light and deep blues, clean and calming aqua, earthy soft brown, and a cool lilac gray. This color palette comes together to provide the perfect blend of vivid and neutral colors, inspiring relaxation and exploration, and transporting us to a season of sunnier feelings. These colors shine bright in Highland Homes’ Florida model homes.
“I love the Spring 2016 Pantone color palette, especially the different shades of sunny oranges and calming blues that made the list!쳌 - Stacey Antonakos-Perez, Design Studio Manager, Highland Homes
Playing with Neutral Tones and Bright Accents
Don’t be afraid to play with color in your new Florida home. Adding bright colors to your home decor can increase your overall happiness and elevate your mood. The new Spring 2016 Pantone® colors Rose Quartz, Peach Echo, Buttercup, Fiesta, and Green Flash are the perfect accent colors for capturing the feeling of Florida sunshine inside of your brand-new home.
Our model home at Venetian at Bay Park in Ruskin, Florida effortlessly uses these aqua and peach tones to capture the essence of Florida throughout the home. Making these colors “pop쳌 is easy; we worked with warm-toned wood cabinets, neutral-colored countertops and carpet, and soft white tile to create the base for this warm and bright color palette.
“Venetian is located near the water so I used a fun coral with aqua together for a fresh and crisp look. These colors remind me of what Florida is about... sunshine, seashells, and beaches." — Stacey Antonakos-Perez
The kitchen in this model home accents with natural green plants on top of the cabinets and cools off with a wall of aqua blue in the convenient built-in drop-zone. Neutral colors continue to flow into the open great room and bedrooms with pops of green and plenty of warm coral oranges. Playing with bright colors in a neutral home can make all of the difference in bringing excitement and personality into your home.
Cooling off with Deep Blues and Striking Grays
Pantone®’s Spring 2016 cool color palette of Serenity, Snorkel Blue, Limpet Shell, and Lilac Gray make up a wonderful palette for a relaxing environment in your home and your lifestyle. Deep blues are known to relax the mind, create a calming environment, and provide a very welcoming setting. Adding elegant neutral cool colors like silvers and grays take this color palette to the next level.
The Highland Homes model home in Lakeland, Florida at Highlands Creek II showcases an elegant cool blue and gray palette. Deep espresso wood cabinets and dark wood furniture, light colored granite, stainless-steel appliances, and warm wood-look ceramic tile provide the base to tie in calming blues and lilac tones as a powerful accent colors. This luxurious home pulls together these beautiful colors, inside and out, with light gray and blue accents in the living area and bedrooms, and light blues on the screened lanai give this home an ode to traditional and modern contemporary styles.
"At Highlands Creek II, I used Serenity paired up with gray for a modern yet comfortable look. I imagine home buyers can envision themselves living comfortable in the home with such a calming color palette." — Stacey Antonakos-Perez
