Winter Haven Fire StationResidents of Winter Haven may feel a little safer with the construction of a new 21,000 square-foot fire station officially underway. The property for the fire station was purchased by the City of Winter Haven. Located on U.S. 17 South, the site has been combined with other property the city also owned. In total, the fire station sits on two acres of land.

The Winter Haven fire station is relocating simply because the 551 Third Street NW location is too small. After 37 years of standing adjacent to City Hall, the Fire Department outgrew its building.

The City boasts this new station will by the first "green" structure in Winter Haven. The building will be classified as a Silver Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified building. Being LEED certified is a great accomplishment for any building. One green aspect of the new fire station is the preservation of large established trees already on the site.

With several communities in Winter Haven, the Florida home builder is proud of the City. Mandolin, Crescent View, Normandy Heights, Lakeside Landings, Brenton Manor and the new St. James Crossing are all located in Winter Haven.

Highland Homes believes building green is important for the health of our world so we offer special incentives to our buyers who purchase options at the personal selection studio that are considered green features.
