Highland Homes was featured on TV in Tampa, Fl in early September for our sponsorship to the Bucified Bert, Ole is Alive Foundation. Earlier this year Highland Homes awarded 4 scholarships to deserving students involved in Bucified Bert's program. It was the first year Highland Homes participated in this event and we are proud to be an integral part of this program.\n\n"Bucified Bert" is a foundation for children started by Albert Owen and his excitement about the program is contagious. A longtime employee of Tampa's news station, WFLA, Channel 8, Owens was asked to spread the Buccaneer message each week during the football season on the TV's Daytime Talk Show. Owens set about inventing the character of “Bucified Bert,쳌 the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ #1 fan. As the personality of Bucified Bert continues to grow, Owens continues to add dimensions to the mission and the motto—which is an acronym for “Bucified쳌: Be Understanding Citizens, Identify Friendly Individuals Each Day.\n\nHighland Homes will continue to be a part of this great program and hopes to help children across Central Florida learn what "BUCIFIED" means and will help spread the attitude of Albert Owens.
