Progress on the long-awaited Tampa Premium Outlets at Cypress Creek Town Center took a large step forward earlier this month when Pasco County officials approved plans for the outlet mall. In addition to approval of the plans, Simon Properties, one of three developers on this project, paid $14.6 million to close on the future-site of the mall.
The other two developers involved with the Cypress Creek Town Center project include Jacobs Group and Sierra Properties. Jacobs Group is developing 50 acres of outparcels that will be developed for retail and restaurants. Sierra Properties, the original developer, owns 40-acres closest to the interstate that have been approved for two hotels and 204 acres on the north side, as well as has invested $10 million so far to install internal road and drainage systems.
While formal announcements are expected to come soon, Saks Inc. has announced its plans to anchor the mall with a Saks Off 5th. Shoppers can also expect to find a large variety of typical Simon outlet mall stores including Banana Republic, Calvin Klein, Coach, J. Crew and Nike. Sierra Properties plans to add additional dining and shopping on the north end, as well as an apartment complex. A movie theater is also likely to call Cypress Creek Town Center home.
Cypress Creek Town Center has been in the works for years, but now that the outlet mall plans have been approved, residents of Pasco County can expect construction to increase with a groundbreaking for the Tampa Premium Outlets to be announced at a later date.
