hh-new-logoThe Polk County Builder’s Association held their annual Banquet for the installation of the new officers and it was a huge success. With over 125 people in attendance, the event was one of the industry's best for 2009. The banquet was held at the Magnolia Building in downtown Lakeland, which is a beautiful setting and the room was very festive all decorated for Christmas.

In Polk County, building permits continue to decline, but there is still a lot of optimism and pride at this local HBA. In attendance were several past Presidents and officers, including Bob and Joel Adams of Highland Homes. Bob and Joel, the father and son team and owners of Highland Homes, are active in the Polk County real estate industry and are not only past Presidents of the PCBA, but were also awarded “builder of the year쳌 in the previous years. Bob Adams was voted builder of the year for two consecutive years according to the program displayed at the tables.

Bob and Joel were reminiscing about the years they were officers of the PCBA and how far they have come. Looking back and looking ahead was the topic of conversation at the table of Highland Homes employees. The passion and pride this father and son team have for this industry and their company is evident. The success that Highland Homes has had in this economy is truly remarkable, but once you spend time with these two it becomes apparent why they continue to thrive. They are knowledgeable about the industry and examine their business model daily. Both owners are very in-tune with what needs to be done and react to situations as required to stay ahead of the competition.

The commitment that Bob and Joel have for this industry has set an example and was noted in the event’s program. Brian Walsh, the VP of Construction at Highland Homes was installed as the Treasurer for the PCBA and will be President in 2013. George Lindsey, the VP of Development for Highland Homes was listed as a Chair person for the Governmental affairs committee, and Brian Walsh and David Adams were both listed as the Co-Chairs for the Builder’s Liaisons.

Highland Homes is setting the pace for another remarkable year and this is obviously a remarkable company looking forward to 2010.
