Spring is in the air, and those who call the Florida real estate in Tampa or the surrounding areas home know that means it is time for the Florida Strawberry Festival! The Strawberry Festival opens in Plant City on March 1 and runs through March 11, 2012.\n\nThe Strawberry Festival brings a piece of traditional Americana to Florida with exhibits that include agriculture, commerce, fine arts, horticulture, crafts, and plenty of entertainment. This year’s concert lineup includes amazing headlining acts such as Gretchen Wilson, Demi Lovato, Air Supply, Hank Williams Jr., Vince Gill, The Charlie Daniels Band, TobyMac and Reba.\n\nIn addition to the headliners, there are plenty of free entertainment shows including Rock-It the Robot, the Sea Lion Splash Show, Robinson’s Racing Pigs, woodwork and rope making demonstrations, Kandu Magic Show and musical performances by Suite Caroline, Ronnie McDowell and Makenzie Raye to name a few. For those looking for hands-on entertainment, try out the strawberry shortcake or corndog eating contests, a strawberry stemming contest, or the karaoke contest!\n\nAttendees can visit the festival daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and enjoy contests, parades, marching bands and other events, in addition to the carnival midway and of course, many, many delicious strawberry treats.\n\nGate admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 6-12. Children 5 and under are free. There are additional ticket fees for the festival’s headlining acts.
