Highland Homes’ new construction homes stand out above used homes not only because you can make your home a true reflection of yourself through personalization of your space, but also in the lower cost of ownership. Essentially, our new construction homes allow homeowners to have lower maintenance costs had they opted for a used home. Another cost-saving benefit is the protection you receive through Highland Homes’ warranty programs, a coverage that extends past your wallet and protects your peace of mind!
In the unlikely case of a problem with your new home or its systems, the Highland Homes warranty, a third-party 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty, and manufacturer warranties will save you both time and money with an easy repair process.
How does this triple protection compare with a used home? There’s usually no warranty on a used home unless you invest in home warranty coverage for yourself. Even then, it’s limited to major systems and appliances—not the full surety coverage we offer.
One Year Builder Warranty
For the first year in your new home, the Highland Homes Builder Warranty protects against a variety of material defects in your home. Our local Florida customer service team handles warranty requests for a quick resolution that will minimize any inconvenience to you. Though we layer this protection with the one-year surety coverage of a third-party warranty (more about that below), we take pride in knowing our homeowners have never had to use it—we are the first and last stop to resolving issues locally and quickly.
2-10 Home Buyers Warranty
Highland Homes also offers homeowners the 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty (2-10 HBW), which requires builders to go through an extensive screening process for selection into the program and an annual inspection process to ensure we continue to build a high-quality product that they will cover. We are pleased to be among the top builders to meet the strict program requirements, year after year. And is further confirmation of Highland Homes’ ongoing commitment to building quality homes for Florida communities!
With Highland’s 2-10 HBW coverage, your home is covered by:
- 1 full year of surety coverage against defects in workmanship and materials. As mentioned, this overlaps the included Highland Homes Builder Warranty. None of our homeowners have ever filed a claim under this supplemental warranty thanks to our outstanding customer service team. Still, it’s nice to know you would have the back up of a neutral party if a problem did arise.
- 2 full years of systems surety coverage against defects in major systems such as electrical, plumbing, heating, cooling, and ventilating.
- 10 full years of structural defect coverage for load-bearing components including the foundation, wall support systems, and roof framing.
This third-party warranty not only gives you comfort that approved repairs will be covered, but it also offers a neutral party to resolve any claims. Plus, if you sell your home, the 2-10 HBW is fully transferable and can increase the resale value of your home.
Looking for even more peace of mind? Many products in your new home are covered by manufacturer warranties. Floor-to-roof coverage starts at the carpet or vinyl, moves up through the appliances and lighting, and makes its way to the shingles, buts specific manufacturer warranties will depend on the selections you made as you personalized your home. We will provide you with all the documentation you need to register and inquire about your specific manufacturer warranties during your home walk-through.
With the many items covered in the first year under the Highland Homes Builder Warranty, further backup from the 2-10 HBW program, and the manufacturer’s warranties available to you, that’s what we mean by triple protection when you become a new homeowner!
