For a child, school can be tough; but for those facing dyslexia, a learning disability that causes reading, writing and spelling difficulties, school can turn into a frustrating and unpleasant experience.

Highland Homes recognizes that dyslexia can make a young child’s time in school agonizing. That’s why the Florida home builder is sponsoring the Roberts Academy at Florida Southern College Pro-Am Tennis Tournament on March 11-13 at the Grasslands Golf and Country Club in Lakeland, Fla. Proceeds will help pay the tuition for the children on the waiting list to attend Florida Southern College Roberts Academy; a transitional elementary school dedicated to preparing students with dyslexia for a traditional classroom setting.

With an all-star lineup slated to play, the tournament should be an exciting event. This year’s players include former winner Joel Helm, Jim Maskas, FSC Hall of Fame member Alberto Bonfil, FSC coach Trish Riddell and All-American Senka Softic.
