Winter Haven is Growing Again
Over the years, Winter Haven has been a mecca of economic growth. In addition to LEGOLAND Florida opening as a huge new Central Florida attraction destination, and the three-month-old Central Florida Intermodal Logistics Center, the Winter Haven City Commission recently approved the sale of 932 acres of vacant land to Winter Haven Industrial Investors, LLC.
What does this mean for residents of Winter Haven and future economic growth? Mike Mullen, veteran industrial developer, envisions 8 million square feet of warehouse and light industrial space that is a distribution hub for Fortune 500 companies. While leasing discussions are premature at this point, Mullen sees the complex as the future home of major retailers such as Wal-Mart, Home Depot, etc.
The project will take five to six years to complete with closing expected to happen on the first 531 acres in July. A few months after, the company will start turning dirt to build a 400,000 square foot building. Just as the building of the Intermodal Logistics Center increased employment opportunities, Mullen estimates that this project will create 2,000 permanent jobs.
Economic growth has been booming in Winter Haven and with the promise of new job opportunities at this state-of-the-art industrial complex, now is a great time to purchase in this Central Florida city.
